Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
Disc golf is played just like traditional golf. The difference is that we use
specially designed aerodynamic discs (Frisbees) to throw at a pin placement (a
specially designed basket). Our governing body, the Professional Disc Golf
Association (PDGA), has over 50,000 members worldwide. There are over 3000 disc
golf courses in North America alone. Disc Golf Tournaments are held all year
long across the USA
and the world.

This year, River City Disc Golf
Association is proud to present the 8th Annual Jacksonville Open Disc Golf
Tournament. This event will be held at the Ed Austin Regional Park on Monument Road. The
Professional Disc Golf Association and the Fabulous Florida Tour sanction this
event. We expect some media coverage of this event by local television and
newspapers. There will be many players competing from all around Florida as
well as several other states.

Please note that sponsorship is not limited to cash endowments. Product donations, such as food and soft drinks for players and spectators to consume during the two-day event are greatly appreciated. Small items such as energy bars, sun block, stickers, lip balm, hats or tee shirts are also welcome. These types of items are placed in player’s packages, which will be given to each competitor at registration. Any item that you wish to donate will be welcome.
